After suffering a broken wrist in a fall at Worcester leading jockey Tom Scudamore is set.
Scudamore was riding the David Pipe-trained Malangen from the opening novices’ handicap chase when his mount suffered a fall in the third fence from the end – seriously hampering.
Scudamore walked off in the incident, but his injury has been confirmed.
Pipe stated:”Unfortunately he’s broken his wrist and he has also got some back pain, so they have kept him in hospital for further checks.
“He is going to be outside for some time, obviously.”
Scudamore’s injury compounds a couple of days for the Pond House group, together with the Boy equally suffering fatal injuries of Noel along with Timeforben.
“They say these things come in threes, so fingers crossed it’s behind us now,” Pipe added.
Another jockey from the wars on Tuesday had been Callum Bewley, who needed to be carried following falling in Kelso from Jackie Stephen’s Welcome Ben.
Welcome Ben was injured after exiting at the next fence and bringing Amazing Ben down
Bewley’s agent, Richard Hale, stated:”I spoke to his dad last night and it seems as though he has tweaked a couple ribs, but there no harm to any vertebrae or anything similar to that, thankfully.
“He is obviously a little tender, but he shouldn’t be off for too long, I wouldn’t have believed – maybe a week or two.”
