Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has already also signed a new contract at Elland Road.
Aston Villa were connected with Phillips although the 23-year-old has committed his future with a deal that ties him to his club.
“Within the course of the summer transfer window, Phillips has been subject to high profile interest from a number of Premier League sides, together with the club rebuffing several offers in excess of #20m,” the team said in a statement.
“The team maintained throughout that Phillips wouldn’t be sold, with the midfielder being essential to strategies for the future, with the immediate objective of procuring top flight soccer.
“As a team, we are delighted that Kalvin shares the exact identical vision and potential for Leeds United, which has been demonstrated by committing his long-term future to the Whites.”
Phillips has made 148 appearances for United since breaking into the first team throughout the 2014-15 season.
After making 46 appearances in all competitions the defensive midfielder has been appointed in the Sky Bet Championship team of this season for its 2018-19 campaign.
Phillips has featured in each match up to now this season for Leeds, assisting Marcelo Bielsa’s side to third in the Championship table behind Swansea City and Charlton.
