Jurgen Klinsmann was named as the new head coach of Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.
Even the 55-year-old has signed a deal before the end of the season to displace Ante Covic, who was sacked from the club on Wednesday morning after having appointed in the summertime.
Covic was with Hertha because he took a string of coaching roles in the club after retiring from football in 2010, and signed up in 2003 as a player.
Klinsmann was appointed on the supervisory board of Hertha but has been assigned coaching duties following the club lost his past four Bundesliga matches, slumping with 11 points to 15th place at the Bundesliga.
The German last handled the USA team to 2016, guiding them in the 2014 World Cup into the round of 16.
He contributes to the dugout in his country after directing the team into the semi-finals in their 2006 World Cup effort as hosts and a stint accountable for Bayern Munich in 2009.
He also spent two seasons across two different spells, scoring 38 goals while also playing Inter Milan, Monaco, Bayern Munich and Stuttgart.
When they host Dortmund on Saturday, klinsmann will take control of the first Bundesliga game.
